Field Identification

Adult moth is having white coloured wings with red margin on forewings and black spots on hindwings. Larvae are balck with bright red coloured with long hairs.

Damage

Voracious defoliator destroys many crops like sorghum, castor, maize, groundnut, etc. They migrate in groups from field to field feeding voraciously on the crops that come across on their way giving them grazed appearance.
